Boston

A pie chart visualizes the distribution of Boston housing prices, categorized into low, medium, and high ranges from the BostonHousing CSV dataset. The SVG chart uses D3.js v5, with `d3.pie`, `d3.arc`, and `d3.scaleOrdinal` to generate colored slices and labels. Data is fetched via `d3.csv` and mapped from the `medv` column, with counts computed per category before rendering.

task 9&10

This horizontal stacked bar chart displays the population of countries in millions, sourced from the covidandworldpopulation.csv dataset. The visualization uses d3-scale's `scaleBand` for the y-axis and `scaleLinear` for the x-axis, with `d3.stack` to create the bar segments. A color legend built with `scaleOrdinal` and `schemeCategory10` allows interactive highlighting, where hovering over a legend item fades non-matching bars and raises the selected stack using `raise()`.

Activity 6

A horizontal bar chart displays the populations of ten countries in 2020, sorted with the largest at the top. D3's `scaleBand` and `scaleLinear` map country names and population values to SVG rectangles, while custom React components `AxisBottom`, `AxisLeft`, and `Marks` render the axes and bars. The chart loads data from a remote CSV file using `d3.csv`, converts the year-2000 column to population by multiplying by 1000, and uses `d3.format` to abbreviate axis tick labels (e.g., billions). The visualization is built with React and D3 v5, rendering to SVG with a Poppins font and custom styling for ticks and marks.
