COVID-19 Map (Positive Cases)

This interactive map of the United States visualizes COVID-19 positive cases by state, with fill colors encoding the log-transformed seven-day average of positive tests, ranging from 5 to 11 on a threshold color scale. A voronoi overlay, built with `d3.Delaunay.from` and `voronoi.renderCell`, enables hover interactions, while each state path (rendered with `d3.geoPath` and `geoAlbersUsa`) displays a tooltip with additional metrics including death toll, tests, and positivity rate. The visualization also includes a threshold color legend and uses React for managing the overlay component.

COVID-19 Map (Positive Cases per 100,000 People)

This map shows the number of positive COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people by U.S. state, using a blue choropleth scale with seven-day averages. A color legend explains the threshold scale, and hovering over a state reveals detailed tooltips with death tolls, test counts, and positivity rates. Built with React and D3 v6, it loads CSV data and TopoJSON state boundaries, projecting them with `d3.geoAlbersUsa` and `d3.geoPath`. A Voronoi overlay from `d3.Delaunay` enables precise hover detection across state borders.

COVID-19 Map (Test Positivity Rate)

A choropleth map of the United States colors each state by its seven-day COVID-19 test positivity rate, using a threshold scale with a green sequential palette. Hovering a state reveals its name, along with seven-day averages for deaths, positive tests, positive tests per 100,000, total tests, and positivity percentage, shown via appended `title` elements. The map is rendered using `d3.geoPath` with a `geoAlbersUsa` projection, driven by `topojson.feature` on state boundaries from a TopoJSON dataset. The visualization is built with React, and a `VoronoiOverlay` using `d3.Delaunay` enables smooth mouse interactions over the state paths.

COVID-19 Map

This interactive map of the United States displays state-level COVID-19 metrics, including seven-day averages for deaths and positive test results, with hover tooltips revealing specific values. Built with D3 v6 and rendered as SVG, the visualization uses topojson for geographic boundaries and computes logarithmic positive-test values for potential choropleth coloring. The map currently fills all states red, while CSS hover states highlight regions in light green, and a custom color legend component supports ordinal color scales, though the full scale integration remains incomplete.
