This animated scatterplot charts the relationship between income per capita and life expectancy for nations from 1800 onward, using log and linear scales on the x- and y-axes respectively. Each circle represents a country, with its position determined by economic and health metrics, its area encoding population, and its color indicating region. The visualization includes a year label, axes with descriptive labels, and interactive tooltips that display the country name and population on hover. Built with D3 v3, the chart loads time-series data from a JSON file and interpolates values for each year, animating the transition as the year label updates.
