Ordinal Scatter Plot
This ordinal scatter plot displays the populations of the top 10 most populous countries, with each country positioned along a vertical categorical axis and its population plotted on a linear horizontal scale. The visualization uses d3.scalePoint for the y-axis, d3.scaleLinear for the x-axis, and renders circles as SVG elements. Code imports d3.csv to load data from a local CSV file, which originates from the United Nations World Population Prospects 2017 estimates. Axes are generated using d3.axisLeft and d3.axisBottom, with population values formatted via d3.format.
