Wissensmod - Barchart

This bar chart shows the population of the ten most populous countries using 2018 estimates from the United Nations World Population Prospects. The visualization displays horizontal bars ordered by country names, with population values on the x-axis. It uses D3 v5 APIs including `d3.csv`, `d3.scaleLinear`, `d3.scaleBand`, `d3.axisLeft`, and `d3.axisBottom` to load data, scale ranges, and render axes. The chart is rendered as an SVG with steelblue rectangles and includes a title, with data parsed from a CSV file.

Test Barchart

A horizontal barchart displays the populations of ten countries, labeled in millions, with a title reading "A population walks into a bar." The visualization loads a CSV file and maps each country’s population to a bar’s width using `scaleLinear` and `scaleBand` for the categorical axis. It renders with D3 v6’s `select`, `csv`, `axisLeft`, and `axisBottom` APIs, drawing SVG rectangles and text elements. Axis labels and tick marks are generated via D3’s axis components, with the chart positioned using explicit margin transforms.
