This visualization re-creates the Florida Gun Deaths chart, showing the number of firearm murders per year from 1989 to 2016 with a highlighted area under the curve. A note marks 2005, when the "Stand Your Ground" law was enacted. The code uses d3.area to draw the filled region, d3.axisTop and d3.axisLeft for the axes, and d3.csv to load the data. The SVG rendering includes a dark red area fill, white annotation text, and a source citation to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
