Force Directed Graph

This visualization employs a force-directed graph to display a dataset of 410 linked nodes, loaded from a TSV file. The d3-force simulation, using `forceSimulation`, `forceLink`, and `forceManyBody`, positions the nodes with link thickness proportional to edge weight. Nodes are colored by a group value, and interactive dragging with `d3.drag` and zooming with `d3.zoom` are enabled. A separate, non-interactive adjacency matrix, built with `d3.select` and `reorder`, is shown but not linked to the graph.

Force Directed Graph

A force-directed graph of 410 connected nodes is shown alongside an adjacency matrix, letting users explore network structure through either view. Clicking a node in the graph highlights its row and column in the matrix, while clicking a matrix cell highlights the corresponding link. The layout uses d3.forceSimulation with forceLink and forceManyBody, rendered as SVG circles and lines, with a zoom transform applied to both. The adjacency matrix is built from the same edge data, and hover effects use dynamically updated stroke colors and widths.

Parallel Coordinates

This parallel coordinates plot visualizes the Iris dataset, with each flower’s measurements plotted as a line across four axes for sepal length, sepal width, petal length, and petal width. Lines are colored by species: orange for setosa, blue for versicolor, and green for virginica, allowing quick comparison of how these groups differ across dimensions. The interactive graphic uses D3.js v3 with SVG rendering and animation, allowing users to drag axes to reorder them, which triggers smooth transitions of the foreground and background lines via the `d3.behavior.drag` API and `d3.svg.axis` for tick marks. Data is loaded from a CSV file hosted on GitHub, and the axes use linear scales with a small padding to avoid clipping.

Iris Scatter plot

This interactive scatter plot visualizes the Iris dataset, displaying measurements of sepal and petal dimensions for three flower species. Users can dynamically change which measurement appears on the x- and y-axes using dropdown menus powered by a custom DropDown component. The plot uses D3.js v5 with SVG rendering, employing `scaleLinear` for axes, `axisBottom` and `axisLeft` for tick marks, and colored circles to distinguish species. Data is loaded from a CSV file and parsed with D3's `csv` function.

Stylized Scatter Plot

This scatter plot visualizes the relationship between petal length and sepal width in the classic Iris dataset. Each red circle represents a flower sample, with axis labels and tick marks rendered using React and reusable D3 scale components. The code leverages d3.csv for data loading, d3.scaleLinear for coordinate mapping, and d3.format for tick label formatting, while all marks and axes are drawn as SVG elements within a React component hierarchy.
