Task 9 question2

This area chart displays car sales in India from 2009 to 2019, using a smooth curve to show the trend over time with both a line and filled area beneath it. The visualization loads CSV data from a GitHub gist and renders with D3 v5, using `scaleTime` and `scaleLinear` for the axes, `area` and `line` generators with `curveBasis` for the smooth path, plus `axisBottom` and `axisLeft` with formatted tick labels. The SVG output includes labeled axes and gridlines via tick sizes.

Task 8 Question 3

This example visualizes a scatter plot of iris flower measurements, mapping sepal length and petal length while encoding species through different symbol shapes. It loads CSV data from a GitHub repository and displays it using an SVG chart with labeled axes and a custom shape legend. The code uses d3.csvParse to load data, d3.scaleLinear for positioning, d3.scaleOrdinal with d3.symbolsFill for shape encoding, and d3.axisLeft and d3.axisBottom for axes. A modular structure separates the scatter plot, axes, and legend into local ES6 modules, with rendering driven by a simple state management pattern.

This scatter plot visualizes the Iris dataset, mapping petal length and width on the axes, with points colored by species (setosa, versicolor, and virginica). The chart uses D3 v6’s `csv`, `scaleLinear`, `extent`, `axisLeft`, and `axisBottom` APIs to load data from a GitHub-hosted CSV and render the SVG. In addition to the petal measurements, the code accesses sepal length and width values, though these are not plotted in the visible marks. The visualization includes custom-styled axis labels and colored circles with a fixed radius.

This example shows a horizontal bar chart of population figures for 20 countries in 2010, with each bar’s length encoding the population value and a native SVG `<title>` element providing a tooltip on hover. The visualization uses React components for rendering, with D3’s `scaleBand` and `scaleLinear` to position bars and axes, and the `format` API to abbreviate tick labels from billions to “B” notation. Data is loaded asynchronously via D3’s `csv` from a GitHub-hosted dataset, and the chart is drawn as SVG within a React app using `ReactDOM.render`.

Task_8

A horizontal bar chart displays the population of ten countries in the year 2000, ranked by country name along the vertical axis. The chart uses React components to render SVG elements, with scales from d3.scaleBand and d3.scaleLinear positioning the bars and axes. Data loads asynchronously from a CSV file via d3.csv, and the population values are formatted using d3.format.

5 Buddhas

Five Buddhas overlap in a monochrome field of hundreds of rotated, semi-transparent polygons, each rendered with random colors and positions. Built with React and SVG, the visualization maps an array of numbers to nested polygon elements, using `Math.random()` for coordinates, fill, and rotation. The central Buddha path is drawn from static SVG path data, repeated five times via transformations, against a black backdrop.
