Daily Coronavirus Confirmed Cases of California and New York State by County

This chart displays the daily confirmed COVID-19 cases for counties in California and New York, plotting each county’s time series on a logarithmic scale. A Voronoi overlay, created with `d3.Delaunay`, enables hover interactions, revealing a tooltip with the total confirmed cases up to that date. The visualization is built with React and D3 v6, using `scaleTime` and `scaleLog` for the axes, and renders as an SVG using `line` and `axisBottom`. Data is sourced from the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus dataset.

yi xiao Map

This map visualizes state-level COVID-19 statistics, showing the seven-day average death toll and positive test rate for each U.S. state. The choropleth uses a logarithmic transform of positive test averages to drive a d3.scaleOrdinal color scale with the d3.schemeOrRd sequential color scheme, rendered through d3.geoPath with a d3.geoAlbersUsa projection. Data comes from a CSV of state metrics joined with TopoJSON state boundaries. A custom d3 legend with circles displays the color scale domain, while CSS hover effects highlight individual states.
