Activity 7 Question 1

This visualization displays a pie chart of the top five countries by market value of acre land in 2024, using data fetched from a CSV file. Each slice is labeled with its value in thousands, and a side legend lists the corresponding country names and values. Built with D3 v5, the code employs `d3.pie` and `d3.arc` to generate the chart, `d3.scaleOrdinal` for slice colors, and appends SVG paths, text, and legend elements to the canvas.

Activity 7 Question 2

This example shows a stacked area chart comparing fruit quantities (apples, oranges, and bananas) across years, rendered as SVG paths using D3.js v7. The code loads CSV data via `d3.csv`, converts numeric fields, stacks the series with `d3.stack`, and maps years to a band scale while quantities use a linear scale. Areas are drawn with a `d3.area` generator, and axes are added using `d3.axisBottom` and `d3.axisLeft`. The visualization includes labeled axes and default color scheme for the stacked series.

Activity 7 Question 2

This example displays a single, centered text message reading “Hello VizHub!” styled with large, 12em font size. The visualization uses the D3.js library, specifically the `select` API, to locate the HTML `#message` div element and set its text content. The message itself is imported from a separate ES6 module, `myMessage.js`, demonstrating modular code organization. The page’s structure is defined in `index.html`, which loads D3 v6 from a CDN and includes the local `styles.css` for typographic styling.
