Fork of Organization Graph Diagram

This graph diagram visualizes the network of connections within the Kenneth Rainin Foundation, using four colored main nodes with child nodes and leaf nodes to represent organizational relationships. Built with D3.js v6, it employs `d3.forceSimulation` with `forceManyBody`, `forceLink`, and `forceCenter` to position nodes, while SVG circles, lines, and text render the structure. The data is generated programmatically in `data.js` from a color palette defined in `colors.js`, with drag interactions enabled via D3's `drag` function.

Organization Graph Diagram

This example visualizes a fictional organization’s hierarchy as an interactive graph diagram, using a force-directed layout to position nodes and links. It shows staff roles and reporting relationships, with the graph rendered on an HTML page. The code uses React to manage the component state and rendering, alongside the D3.js library’s force simulation (`d3.forceSimulation`) to compute the node positions and link paths. The visualization does not load external data, instead relying on the inline JavaScript to define its structure.

Fork of Coronavirus Deaths Over Time by Country With Voronoi Overlay

This chart displays cumulative global coronavirus deaths over time as multiple gray lines, one per country, on a logarithmic scale. A red Voronoi overlay, generated with `d3.Delaunay` and `d3.delaunay.voronoi`, is drawn on top of the chart to illustrate a spatial partitioning of the plotting area, though its hover handler only logs to the console. The React-based visualization uses `d3.scaleTime`, `d3.scaleLog`, and `d3.line` with SVG rendering. Data comes from the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus time-series CSV.

Fork of Coronavirus Deaths Over Time by Country With Voronoi Overlay

A fork of a line chart of cumulative COVID-19 deaths over time by country, using a log-scaled y-axis, renders the global dataset from the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus GitHub repository. React components build SVG paths for each country’s time series, while a D3 Voronoi overlay (computed via `d3.Delaunay`) captures mouse hover events to highlight the nearest data point’s country line, turning it black and thicker. The chart uses `d3.scaleTime`, `d3.scaleLog`, and `d3.line` to encode the data, with axes from `d3.axisBottom` and `d3.axisLeft`.

Loading and Parsing Corona Virus Data

This example demonstrates loading and parsing a CSV file containing CSS named colors from a GitHub gist. It displays three summary metrics in a large text block: the file size in kilobytes, the number of rows, and the number of columns. The code uses `d3.csv` with a promise to fetch and parse the data, and also includes commented alternatives using `fetch`, `async`, and `await` with `d3.csvParse`. The result is rendered as plain text inside a pre element.

Fork of Missing Migrants on a Map

This interactive map visualizes missing migrant events worldwide, with each circle representing a single incident and its size proportional to the total number of dead and missing individuals. The visualization employs a square-root scale to map fatality counts to circle radii. Built with React and rendered as SVG, it uses D3’s `geoNaturalEarth1` projection, `geoPath`, and `geoGraticule` for geographic context, alongside TopoJSON’s `feature` and `mesh` for land and interior boundaries. Circle opacity is set uniformly, and data originates from the Missing Migrants Dataset.

Fork of Vega-Lite API Template

This visualization plots automobile displacement against horsepower using a scatterplot of individual points, with tooltips revealing the car model name on hover. It leverages the Vega-Lite API for declarative chart specification, backed by Vega and Vega-Lite rendering engines, while D3’s `csv` loader fetches the auto-mpg dataset from a GitHub gist. The code customizes axis styling and global appearance through a config object, and the chart’s size dynamically adapts to the browser window dimensions.

Data-Viz-test-01

A simple SVG smiley face is rendered using React and D3. The yellow circular face, eyes, and mouth are drawn with SVG shapes, including a D3-generated arc path for the mouth. The code uses React components for structure and the `arc()` API from D3 to compute the mouth's path. All elements are static, with hardcoded dimensions and coordinates, and are displayed centered in a 960 by 500 viewport.

Data-Viz-01

This example displays a single, empty SVG element centered on a plain white page, with the body text scaled to an oversized 13em font size. Although the page structure suggests a potential data visualization, no data or graphical content is actually rendered; the SVG remains blank. The implementation uses raw HTML, CSS, and JavaScript without any external libraries or frameworks, despite the metadata referencing React. The visualization shows only the empty scaffolding of an SVG container, with no visible charts, marks, or interactive behavior present in the code.
