Basic Geometries
This example displays a simple scatterplot-like visualization using basic SVG geometries, including squares, rectangles, and circles, rendered against a dark background. The code defines custom helper functions—`squ`, `rect`, and `cir`—to append SVG shapes, and uses D3 v5’s `select`, `csv`, `scaleLinear`, and `max` to load and process population data from `data.csv` before rendering. The visualization is drawn with SVG elements via D3’s selection API, with axis functions `axisLeft` and `axisBottom` available but not explicitly invoked.
