Radar Chart (Football Manager)

This radar chart visualizes a football player’s skill ratings across six attributes, using a closed polygon over concentric tick rings. The example displays Raphael Varane’s stats from a local JSON file, with each skill (Defending, Creativity, etc.) mapped to an angular axis. Built with D3 v3, it uses `d3.svg.line.radial`, `d3.svg.area.radial`, and an ordinal color scale to render the layered SVG paths and axis labels. The data values are linearly scaled, and the chart is centered within a 960×500 viewport.

Radar chart

A radar chart, also known as a spider chart, compares two data series across five categorical axes: Visualization, Machine Learning, Data Manipulation, Web Scrapping, and Search Engine. One series shows full values of 1, while the other displays fractional values. The SVG-based visualization, built with D3.js v3, uses a custom `RadarChart.draw` function to render circular level rings, percentage labels, axis lines, and filled, semi-transparent polygons for each series. The chart includes hover interactions and a color scale from `d3.scale.category10()`, with static legend titles defined in the accompanying script.

Shotplot

This interactive SVG visualization plots every shot taken by a single soccer player across a season, with each shot positioned on a pitch diagram and colored by outcome (goal, blocked, off target, etc.). Hovering over a shot reveals a tooltip with the opponent, match minute, and home/away status. The visualization uses D3.js version 3.5 to draw the pitch, render the shot data points, and handle the d3-tip tooltips, with the data displayed in a static text file.
