Line Chart

A line chart displays temperature readings over time for San Francisco, using data from the Data Canvas Sense Your City Dataset. The chart plots timestamps on the x-axis and temperature on the y-axis, connecting points with a smooth curved line rendered as an SVG path. It is built with React and D3 v5, using D3 scales like `scaleTime` and `scaleLinear` to map data to coordinates, and the `line` generator with `curveNatural` to create the path. Axis components are custom React components that render ticks and labels, with hover tooltips omitted.

Line Chart

This line chart shows groundwater monitoring data from two EPA wells at Bog of the Ring, plotting water levels over time with an optional linear regression trendline. The visualization uses a linked-brush interaction, where selecting a date range in the smaller brush chart filters the main chart's time axis. Built with D3 v5, it employs `brushX` for brushing, `scaleTime` and `scaleLinear` for axes, and `nest` to group data by well. Data is loaded from CSV files using D3's `csv` function, and the regression calculation uses `leastSquares` from the custom `Regression` module.

Australia Electorate Map

This map visualizes Australian electorates, coloring each region by its electoral division using a categorical color scale and labeling them with their names. Built with D3 v5 and the topojson library, it processes a Topology JSON file to generate SVG paths via `d3.geoPath` with a Mercator projection. The React-based example uses `d3.scaleOrdinal` with `schemeCategory10` for fills, and positions text labels using centroid calculations from the projection.

Australia Electorate Map

This visualization displays the electoral boundaries of Australian federal electorates using a natural Earth projection. The map renders each electorate as a filled SVG path, with light green areas and thin black stroke lines distinguishing regions. The code loads geographic data from a TopoJSON file using D3 v5 and the `topojson` library, then applies `d3.geoNaturalEarth1` for projection and `d3.geoPath` to generate the paths. The accompanying README includes a video tutorial for the example.

Fork of Let's make a map with D3.js!

This map visualizes the countries of the world on a blue sphere using a natural Earth projection. It renders geographic boundaries with a light green fill, black strokes, and a semi-transparent stroke opacity. The code uses D3 v5’s `geoNaturalEarth1` and `geoPath` to project and draw features, while TopoJSON’s `feature` extracts country polygons from the world-atlas dataset. A static SVG path for the sphere is appended first, followed by dynamically appended country paths.
