Fork of Fork of Hello VizHub

This example demonstrates a web page titled “Mental Health Care Access” that displays fetched data from an API. Users click a “Fetch Data” button to trigger a `fetch()` request to an example API URL, with the response formatted as JSON and rendered as text inside the page’s content area. The code uses vanilla JavaScript for event handling and DOM manipulation, along with basic CSS for styling. It does not include any D3.js or data visualization elements, despite the README mentioning D3 import capabilities.

This example visualizes the top ten countries by their World Happiness Report scores using a pie chart. Each slice represents a country, with its size proportional to the reported happiness score, and a legend identifies the country names. The visualization is rendered on an HTML canvas element using the Chart.js library, which is loaded from a CDN. The data is defined as a static array of country and score pairs, with the chart’s colors assigned via a fixed palette of hex values.

This example displays the top ten happiest countries in plain HTML, ranked by overall score, with columns for rank, country, and score. It uses a static JavaScript array as its data source and dynamically populates a table by creating and appending `tr` elements to the `tbody` via `document.createElement` and `innerHTML`. The visualization is a straightforward tabular listing without any charting or mapping libraries, relying solely on standard DOM manipulation. It offers a clean, text-based view of the World Happiness Report rankings.

This area chart depicts global average land temperature over time, using a steelblue filled path to visualize the temperature trend. The visualization loads data from a CSV file and relies on d3.scaleTime, d3.scaleLinear, and d3.area to construct the chart. It renders the graphic as an SVG within a div, adding axis labels via d3.axisBottom and d3.axisLeft to clarify the date and temperature scales.

This example shows an area chart that visualizes a dataset fetched from a remote text file, labeling the chart and its title with the artist named in the first line of the data. It uses Chart.js, a canvas-based library, to render a filled line chart with a teal color scheme. The `fetch` API retrieves the raw data, which is then split into labels and numeric values via custom string processing, and the chart is drawn into an HTML canvas element.
