Loading Data with react and D3

This example demonstrates how to load external CSV data within a React component using D3’s `d3.csv` method, displaying a summary of the dataset’s size, row count, and column count. The component uses React’s `useState` and `useEffect` hooks to fetch the data from a GitHub gist and render a message via a custom `message` module. The visualization pauses on a “Loading...” status until the asynchronous data retrieval completes, then presents the statistics in a large monospace `<pre>` element rendered as SVG.

Interaction With React, mouse follower

A red circle follows the cursor inside an SVG canvas in this React-based interactive visualization. The example demonstrates a mouse-follower interaction using React's `useState` hook to track pointer coordinates and update the circle's `cx` and `cy` attributes in real time. The `App` component renders an SVG element with an `onMouseMove` event handler, which calls `setMousePosition` on each pointer movement. The circle’s position is bound to the stored mouse coordinates, creating a direct visual response. The code uses React 16.9.0, ReactDOM, and the SVG `circle` element, with the canvas sized at 960 by 500 pixels.

Smiley face, part6

A grid of eighteen smiley faces, each with randomized facial features, is rendered as SVG using React components. The code separates the face into reusable `BackgroundCircle`, `Eyes`, `Mouth`, and `FaceContainer` components, with the mouth drawn using a `d3.arc()` path generator. `d3.range` creates the grid array, and each face's eye position, eye radius, mouth width, and mouth radius are randomly varied on render.
