This example shows a force-directed network graph of character interactions from *Les Misérables*, with nodes colored by group and links weighted by line thickness. It uses d3.forceSimulation with link, charge, and center forces to position the nodes, rendering SVG circles and lines. The data comes from the embedded miserables.json file, and nodes are draggable via d3.drag.

A choropleth map of French regions displays the weekly incidence of influenza cases from 2003 to 2015. A slider lets users scrub through the time series, updating region colors from a linear scale spanning green to dark red. The map is rendered with D3’s `d3.geo.conicConformal` projection and `d3.geo.path`, while the slider’s `input` event triggers redrawing of the paths. Data comes from CSV files with weekly counts per region, loaded asynchronously via `d3.queue`, and a tooltip shows the exact value on hover.
