Fork of Pathetic Bar Chart

This example shows the top 10 most populous countries as a set of horizontal rectangles, with lengths proportional to each country’s 2020 population, and no axes or labels. The visualization uses React with React hooks—`useState` and `useEffect`—to load a CSV from the United Nations World Population Prospects 2019 via `d3.csv`, then slices the first ten rows. Scaling relies on `d3.scaleBand` for vertical positioning and `d3.scaleLinear` for bar widths, with the SVG rendered declaratively through React’s JSX.

Fork of Vega-Lite API Template

This visualization displays a scatter plot of automobile data, mapping displacement against horsepower, with points colored by country of origin and tooltips revealing model names. The example uses the Vega-Lite API (via `vega-lite-api`) to declaratively construct the chart, while D3's `csv` method loads the auto-mpg dataset. Rendering is handled by Vega and Vega-Lite with SVG output, and the tooltip functionality comes from the `vega-tooltip` Handler. Axis styling and color scheme are customized through a JSON config object, which is merged into the visualization's default appearance.

Fork of Hello HTML

This example renders a blank React application inside an HTML page, demonstrating the minimal setup required to combine React with D3. The code loads React 18, ReactDOM, and D3 v7 from CDNs, then uses `ReactDOM.render` to mount a simple `App` component into a `root` div. The page defines a hidden overflow body style and includes a YouTube video embed in the README, though the visible output only shows an empty canvas. The focus is on the wiring of the JavaScript libraries rather than any data visualization.
