Earthquakes, 5.0 and up, Aug. 2016 - Aug. 2017
This map visualizes the geographic distribution of earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.0 or higher, recorded from August 2016 to August 2017. Each earthquake is depicted as a circle, with its size and color scaled according to magnitude, using a yellow-to-red gradient. The visualization employs the D3.js library, specifically `d3.geo.equirectangular` for the map projection, `d3.geo.path` for rendering landmasses, and `d3.scale.sqrt` for scaling circle radius and color. Data is sourced from a CSV file, and the final output is rendered as an SVG with WebGL support.
