This example demonstrates how to load and prepare a CSV dataset of country populations for visualization. It uses D3’s `select` and `csv` functions to read the data file and log the parsed result to the console, while an empty `render` function awaits further implementation. The code defines an SVG canvas with fixed width and height attributes, and includes a CSS class for highlighting elements. The tutorial focuses on structuring JavaScript with arrays and objects, showing a foundational pattern for data-driven web graphics.

Fork of Hello HTML

This example shows a static smiley face drawn as a yellow circle with two black eyes, rendered entirely in SVG. The code uses plain SVG elements—a large `<circle>` with a thick black stroke and two smaller filled circles—placed inside an HTML page. No JavaScript libraries or data sources are involved; the rendering approach is direct SVG markup with inline CSS to remove page margins and hide overflow. The result is a minimal, self-contained fork of the “Hello HTML” template.
