This choropleth map visualizes the share of the population infected with HIV/AIDS for 2017, using a yellow-orange-red sequential color scale. It renders a natural Earth projection with countries, graticules, and interior boundaries via d3.geoPath and TopoJSON. Missing countries appear gray. Data comes from the IHME CSV, with country codes matched through the ISO-3166 slim dataset. The example is built with React, D3 v5, and SVG, mapping each country’s numeric code to its prevalence value.
