A tree diagram displays hierarchical data with rounded rectangular nodes and connecting curved links, all rendered in a clean white-and-steelblue palette. The visualization uses D3 v4 to generate the layout, with each node labeled by text and positioned via an external vertical_tree.js script. The code loads D3 from a CDN and applies CSS styling to define node fills, strokes, and link thickness. The example demonstrates a static, non-interactive tree structure, relying on D3's core selection and data-join methods rather than force simulation or animation.

This example displays a static SVG canvas with a single centered text element reading "Edit the code below to change me!" in a large monospaced font. The code uses D3 v4 to select the body, append an SVG of 960 by 500 pixels, and position the text at coordinates (120, 200). It demonstrates basic D3 selection and attribute manipulation without any data binding, transitions, or interactive behavior. The visualization is a minimal placeholder generated from a Blockbuilder template, illustrating the initial state of a D3 project before custom code is added.

This example presents a bare-bones D3.js v4 template that renders a single static text element in an SVG canvas. The visualization shows the phrase “Edit the code below to change me!” centered horizontally and vertically using a large monospaced font. The code initializes an SVG container with fixed dimensions of 960 by 500 pixels and appends a `text` node via `d3.select` and `append`. It demonstrates the minimal structure for a D3 project, relying on the standard `d3` v4 API for DOM manipulation and attribute setting, without any data binding or interactivity. The source is a simple Blockbuilder-generated gist.
