Making a Bar Chart
This bar chart displays the population of the top 10 most populous countries in 2018, using data from the United Nations World Population Prospects 2017. The visualization highlights population values on a linear scale for the x-axis, with country names on a band scale for the y-axis. The code uses d3.csv to load data, d3.scaleLinear and d3.scaleBand for scaling, and d3.axisLeft and d3.axisBottom to render axes. Custom tick formatting converts large numbers to abbreviated units, and the chart is rendered as an SVG with styled rectangles.
