Fork of Migrant Deaths Linked Views with Fast Brushing

This interactive visualization links a world map with a time-series histogram to explore migrant deaths. It plots the number of dead and missing per reported date, with circles on the map sized by total deaths. Users brush the histogram’s time axis to filter the map’s data points. The map uses the natural Earth projection from `d3` and `d3.geoPath`, while the histogram uses `d3.scaleLinear`, `d3.scaleTime`, and `d3.histogram` for binning. React’s `useMemo` optimizes rendering, and the data is loaded via `d3.csv`.

SVG-Fundamentals

This example demonstrates the fundamental building blocks of SVG rendering in a web page. It displays a green circle and an outlined blue rectangle that traces the full width and height of the SVG canvas. Using only a static SVG element with CSS and JavaScript available in the HTML document, it shows how primitive shapes are positioned via explicit coordinates and styled through fill and stroke attributes. The rendering approach relies on native SVG markup embedded directly in the page, without any additional charting library.
