Sized Points on a Map

This example displays a world map with circles sized proportionally to city populations, using data from the Simplemaps World Cities Database. The map renders geographic features with d3.geoNaturalEarth1, d3.geoPath, and d3.geoGraticule, while country boundaries load from World Atlas TopoJSON. City points are placed via projection coordinates and scaled with d3.scaleSqrt, all built within a React component using SVG. The visualization includes graticules and styled land, sphere, and interior paths for a polished cartographic look.

This example demonstrates a grid of procedurally generated cartoon faces rendered as SVG using React components. Each face is constructed from compositional parts—a background circle, eyes, and a mouth—whose positions and sizes vary randomly through JavaScript’s `Math.random()`. The faces are wrapped in a `FaceContainer` that applies a coordinate transform, while the mouth is drawn using a d3 arc path with specified inner/outer radii and angular extents. The layout uses d3’s `range` function to create an array for the grid, and ReactDOM renders all faces into a single page with no user interaction.
