Activity & Q2 Area chart for Chocolate Sales

This area chart visualizes chocolate sales by plotting boxes shipped over time using D3.js. The visualization loads CSV data from a GitHub gist, parses dates and numeric values, and renders a filled brown area to show the sales trend. It uses `d3.area` to generate the area path, with `scaleTime` and `scaleLinear` for the axes, and `axisBottom`/`axisLeft` for tick marks. The chart includes labeled x and y axes plus a descriptive title, with SVG rendering sized to the browser window.

Activity 7 Q1 DM

A pie chart displays the total training cost by division, sourced from an HR dataset. The D3.js v7 application loads the CSV data, groups records by division, and sums the training costs. It uses a custom `pieChart` component, which reads data through a value accessor, to render the visualization. The chart is drawn as an SVG element filling the window, with a bold title and a light gray background.

Activity 7 Q1 Pie Chart - using HR data analysis

This pie chart visualizes training costs by division, aggregating individual employee records from a CSV file into total spending per division. The chart renders as an SVG using D3 v7’s `pie()` and `arc()` generators, with `scaleOrdinal` and `schemeCategory10` assigning colors to each division slice. Division names appear on the slices via `arcGen.centroid`, while a separate title labels the chart. The data is loaded asynchronously with `csv()`, summed through a `Map` reduce, and the visualization fills the full browser window.

Hello VizHub

This pie chart visualizes total sales by product category, using data from a cleaned sales dataset hosted on GitHub. Built with D3.js v7, it employs `d3.pie` and `d3.arc` to generate the chart segments, with colors assigned via `d3.scaleOrdinal`. The code processes the CSV data with `d3.csv`, groups values using `d3.rollups`, and renders the result as SVG, including a legend and placeholder axis labels.

Divya Activity 7 Question 1

This pie chart visualizes total sales by product, showing proportional slices for each product in a sales dataset. The visualization uses D3.js v5 with SVG rendering, employing `d3.rollup` to aggregate sales totals per product and `d3.pie` to compute arc angles. The `d3.arc` generator draws the pie segments, while a color-coded legend identifies each product. Data is loaded asynchronously from a CSV file hosted on GitHub using `d3.csv`, with slices labeled directly on the chart via `arc.centroid`. The resulting graphic provides an at-a-glance comparison of sales performance across product categories.

Fork of Activity 7 Question 1

This pie chart visualizes total sales by product category using a donut layout. It loads sales data from a remote CSV file via `d3.csv`, aggregates values with `d3.rollup`, and computes arc angles using `d3.pie`. Each slice is rendered as an SVG `path` with `d3.arc`, colored by `d3.scaleOrdinal` with `d3.schemeSet2`, and labeled at the arc centroid. A manual legend maps product names to their corresponding colors. The visualization demonstrates a standard D3 v5 pie chart workflow with external data loading and SVG rendering.

Activity 7

This pie chart displays total sales by product, using a CSV dataset loaded from GitHub. The D3.js v7 code (with d3.csv, d3.rollup, d3.sum, d3.pie, and d3.arc) aggregates the data and renders SVG slices labeled with product names. A color legend, built with d3.scaleOrdinal and d3.schemeCategory10, lists each product and its summed sales value. The chart uses white slice strokes and a centered layout within an 800x500 SVG.

Activity 7_question1

A pie chart displays categorical sales proportions, with each slice labeled and colored by category. Hovering over a slice reveals an HTML tooltip showing the percentage of total sales. The visualization is built with D3 version 7, using the `d3.pie()` layout and `d3.arc()` generator to create slice paths. It loads CSV data from a GitHub Gist via `d3.json()`, applies an ordinal color scale, and includes a custom legend. An SVG canvas renders all marks, while tooltip positioning tracks mouse coordinates.

Activity 7 Question 1

This visualization shows the sales distribution by product as a pie chart, with each slice sized proportionally to the total sales for that product. The code loads a CSV file from a GitHub repository using `d3.csv`, then groups and aggregates the data with `d3.rollup` and `d3.sum`. It renders the pie chart using `d3.pie` and `d3.arc` paths, colors slices with `d3.scaleOrdinal` and the Tableau 10 color scheme, and adds a legend with product names and colored swatches. The chart is drawn as an SVG with white slice strokes and labels positioned at slice centroids.
