SF Arrests

This visualization maps arrests in San Francisco over the past week, using a conic equal-area projection to render neighborhood boundaries and street lines as the basemap. Each arrest is plotted as a semi-transparent circle, with neighborhoods highlighting on hover to show district names. The code loads GeoJSON basemap and street data via `d3.json`, queries the Socrata Open Data API for arrest records with a date range filter, and draws all elements as SVG paths and circles using `d3.geoPath` and standard D3 selections.

Gun Deaths in Florida

This visualization shows the number of murders committed using firearms in Florida from 1989 to 2016, with the data filtered to highlight the period around the enactment of the "Stand Your Ground" law.
