Covid-19 Analysis: Econ & Health

This interactive scatterplot explores relationships between economic and health indicators across countries, with dropdown menus on the X and Y axes allowing selection from fourteen attributes such as GDP, life expectancy, and mortality rates. Built with React and D3 v5, it uses scaleLinear for axes, renders SVG circles via the Marks component, and loads CSV data from a gist. Axis components format tick labels using d3.format, while the dropdown library updates state to re-scale the visualization.

This example visualizes world country boundaries and landmasses on a natural Earth projection, using a teal color scheme for land and gray for the sphere. It loads GeoJSON from the World Atlas TopoJSON dataset via `d3.json` and `topojson.feature`, with `topojson.mesh` drawing interior borders. The React component renders SVG paths generated by `d3.geoPath` and `d3.geoNaturalEarth1`, including graticules and a sphere outline. The map updates asynchronously after data fetching, displaying a loading message until the data arrives.
