This example demonstrates a minimal D3.js v4 visualization that renders a static SVG canvas with a single text element. The code selects the `<body>` element, appends an SVG of fixed dimensions (960 by 500 pixels), and places the string "Edit the code!" at coordinates (120, 200) with a monospace font. It uses the `d3.select` and `svg.append` APIs to construct the scene, serving as a starting template for interactive data-driven graphics. No external data source is loaded; the visualization is purely code-generated and immediately editable.

A simple bar chart displays five blue rectangles of varying heights, encoding the array `[100, 250, 175, 200, 120]` as vertical bars. The visualization uses D3 v4 to bind data to SVG `rect` elements, setting their `x`, `y`, `width`, and `height` attributes with data-driven values. Each bar is positioned sequentially along the horizontal axis, with its height proportional to the data value and filled in solid blue with white strokes. The chart demonstrates basic data binding and attribute manipulation in SVG, without axes or scales.
