Bowl of Fruit - General Update Pattern Special Cases
This example demonstrates the general update pattern for data joins in D3 v5, showing how to handle entering, updating, and exiting elements with a bowl of fruit rendered as SVG circles and text labels. The visualization uses `scaleOrdinal` to map fruit types like apple and lemon to specific colors and radii, while a static bowl shape is drawn with a `rect` element. The code explicitly manages enter and exit selections using `selection.enter()`, `merge()`, and `selection.exit().remove()`, with separate handling for circles and text within each group. The fruit data is initially two apples, and the update pattern enables smooth transitions when new fruit types are added or removed.
