Group E - Data Visualization Assignment 3

This visualization presents the classic Iris dataset, plotting petal width against sepal length while encoding sepal length as both the x-position and the radius of each circle. It uses D3.js (version 3) with an SVG rendering approach, employing `d3.scale.linear` for the x, y, and radius scales, and `d3.scale.category10` for color-coding the three iris species. The data is loaded from a remote CSV file via `d3.csv`, with axes and labels drawn using `d3.svg.axis`.

Group E - Data Visualization Assignment 3

This visualization displays the classic Iris dataset, plotting petal width against sepal length while encoding sepal length through circle radius and species through categorical color. The scatterplot uses D3.js v3 with SVG rendering, employing `d3.scale.linear` for position and size mappings and `d3.scale.category10` for species colors. Axes are generated via `d3.svg.axis`, with data loaded from a remote CSV and transformed through a `type` function that converts numeric fields. The code demonstrates a standard enter-update-exit pattern, though only the enter and update phases are implemented.

Group E - Data Visualization Assignment 3

This example visualizes the Iris dataset with a scatterplot, mapping sepal length to the x-axis, petal width to the y-axis, and encoding species by color, while also scaling point radius by sepal length. The code uses D3.js v3 to construct an SVG, applying linear scales for positioning and radius, and a category10 color scale for categorical grouping. Axes are generated with d3.svg.axis, and the data is loaded as CSV from a remote GitHub source. The visualization highlights the relationship between measurements and species clusters without interaction or animation.

This example shows the classic Iris dataset as a bubble chart, mapping sepal length to the x-axis, petal width to the y-axis, and sepal length to bubble radius, with species distinguished by color. The chart is rendered as static SVG in D3 v3, using `d3.scale.linear` for position and size scales, `d3.scale.category10` for colors, and `d3.svg.axis` for the labeled axes. Data is loaded via `d3.csv` from a GitHub-hosted CSV file, with a title and axis labels added manually.
