Bitcoin trail
This chord diagram visualizes Bitcoin transaction flows between eight entities, with arc thickness representing the value transferred. The layout is computed using D3’s chord layout (d3.layout.chord) from a matrix of transaction amounts, and rendered as an SVG with colored arcs and ribbons. Each group represents a user or transaction, labeled with its name and colored via ColorBrewer. Mouseover a group fades out chords not connected to it, highlighting travel to and from that particular entity, while hovering a chord reveals exact origin–destination values in a tooltip. The circular layout and ribbon widths encode transaction volume, and the interactive focus supports exploration of the network structure. Data is loaded from CSV and JSON files, and the visualization uses D3 v2.# Bitcoin trail
This interactive chord diagram visualizes the flow of Bitcoin transactions between users and transactions. Each segment around the circle represents a participant, with colored chords connecting senders to receivers. The width of each chord encodes transaction volume, while the interactive hover effect highlights all connections to and from a selected user, fading out unrelated chords for clarity. Built with D3.js and rendered as SVG, the visualization uses a matrix of transaction values and a color palette from ColorBrewer to show the flow of bitcoins across the network.
