This example displays a year of tide predictions for L’Herbaudière as an interactive calendar. It maps each day to a grid cell, with the timing of high and low tides encoded as positioned marks that trace the rhythmic progression through the months. The visualization processes an ICS file containing hourly tide coefficients and event descriptions from the French hydrographic service (SHOM). It uses d3.timeFormat and d3.scaleTime to parse dates and position events, while d3.select and SVG rect elements render the calendar cells and tide markers.
