Interrupted Homolosine Condensed (Work In Progress)
This is a work-in-progress D3 v4 visualization exploring a "condensed" variant of the interrupted Homolosine projection, as seen in Herbert Bayer's World Geographical Atlas. It displays a world map with landmasses and country boundaries, split into two distinct projection configurations side-by-side. The code uses `d3.geoInterruptedHomolosine` with custom `clipPolygon` and `lobes` definitions, rendering via `d3.geoPath` over SVG. A graticule layer and a red marker that tracks the mouse position via `projection.invert` are also included, using TopoJSON world data.
AI-generated descriptionThis interrupted homolosine projection is available as d3.geoInterruptedHomolosine in d3-geo-projection.
Working on the "condensed" version used by Herbert Bayer and the CCA in The World Geographical Atlas.
Will need much more :) See https://github.com/rveciana/d3-composite-projections/tree/master/src
