A radial dendrogram visualizes a hierarchical thesaurus, with nodes arranged in concentric circles and links drawn as curved paths. The example loads a CSV of German-language taxonomy terms, filters entries to a single picture, and transforms them into a nested hierarchy. Each node’s label is rotated tangentially, and the tree layout uses a 360-degree radius to display all terms. The visualization uses d3.v4 with SVG rendering and is based on a fork of mbostock’s Radial Dendrogram block.

Radial Dendrogram

A radial dendrogram visualizes a hierarchical dataset as branching curved links radiating from a central root, with each leaf node labeled. The code uses D3 v4’s `d3.stratify` to convert the flat flare.csv–style data into a hierarchy, then applies the `d3.cluster` layout to position nodes radially. SVG paths are drawn for links, and circles and text represent the nodes. The data originates from a gist and is rendered statically without interaction.

RADIAL TREE 2

This radial tree visualization displays a hierarchical dataset from a CSV file, using a circular layout where branches extend from a central root. The visualization supports panning and zooming interaction, allowing users to explore the hierarchy. Built with D3 v4, the code uses `d3.stratify`, `d3.tree`, `d3.linkRadial`, and `d3.csv` to process and render the data as an SVG. Nodes are drawn as circles with text labels, and links are rendered as curved paths with light blue strokes. The tree is positioned within a large SVG canvas, with labels rotated to follow the radial structure.

RADIAL TREE

This radial tree visualization displays a hierarchical dataset, such as a world geography or an engineering part structure, with nodes arranged in a circular layout. The code uses the D3.js v4 library, specifically the `cluster()`, `hierarchy()`, and `zoom()` APIs, along with SVG rendering. The visualization shows how the hierarchy branches outward from the root, with text labels positioned and rotated based on depth and angle. It also includes panning and zooming interaction to explore the tree structure, with the data loaded from a JSON file.

Radial Dendrogram

A radial dendrogram displays the hierarchical structure of the Flare data visualization toolkit, with nodes arranged in concentric rings radiating from a central root and curved links tracing parent-child relationships. Internal nodes appear darker, while leaf labels rotate to follow their radial position. The visualization uses D3 v4’s `d3.stratify` to build the hierarchy from CSV data and `d3.cluster` to compute radial layout angles and radii, with SVG paths and text elements rendered through a custom polar-to-Cartesian projection function.

Untitled

A radial dendrogram displays a hierarchy of car-related terms, with "cars" at the center and ten categories—including "owned," "traded," and specific models like "325ci"—arranged as leaf nodes. D3’s `d3.stratify()` builds the hierarchy from the CSV-like data, while `d3.cluster()` computes the radial layout. The code draws SVG paths using `d3.linkRadial()` and renders circles and labels via `d3.pointRadial()`, with the root node emphasized by a larger radius.

RADIAL TREE 2

A radial tree visualization displays a hierarchical dataset as curved links radiating from a central root node, with leaf nodes positioned along the outer circumference. The code uses D3 v4's `d3.tree()` layout with a radial size, `d3.stratify()` to parse hierarchical CSV data, and `d3.linkRadial()` to generate the bezier paths. SVG circles mark nodes, while panning and zooming are enabled via the `d3.zoom()` API. The flare.csv dataset provides the hierarchy, and the rendering is entirely SVG-based with light blue translucent links.

RADIAL TREE 3

This radial tree visualization displays a hierarchical dataset of part numbers and associated values, branching from a single root node. The layout uses D3’s `d3.cluster` to arrange nodes radially, with curved paths rendering parent–child links. Panning and zooming are supported via D3’s `zoom` behavior, while node labels are rotated to follow the radial angle. Data is loaded from a CSV file and processed with `d3.stratify` to build the tree structure, rendered as SVG.

Radial Tree

A radial tree displays a hierarchical dataset of world countries, branching outward from a central root with nodes arranged by depth. The visualization supports panning and zooming to explore the structure. Built with D3 v4, it uses `d3.stratify` to parse the data, `d3.tree()` with a radial layout, and `d3.linkRadial` for curved links. Node labels rotate based on depth and angle, with font sizes decreasing for deeper levels. The scene is rendered as SVG within a fixed-size viewport.
