A self-updating scatterplot-style chart plots five monotone-smoothed line series of random values against six categorical month labels on shared axes, with twenty randomly placed circles scattered across the same coordinate space. Every second, the animation regenerates all random y-values for every line and repositions every circle, using jQuery to trigger the updates and D3’s transition system to animate the changes smoothly. The SVG rendering uses D3’s scalePoint, scaleLinear, axisBottom, and axisLeft for the axes.
