Untitled

This bar chart displays the 2019 Economic Freedom Index, with countries ranked by population and colored by religion. The visualization is built using the Vega-Lite API, which constructs a bar mark with categorical country fields, quantitative population values, and religious categories for color encoding. Tooltips provide additional population details on hover. The data is fetched via d3.csv from a GitHub Gist, and the chart is rendered responsively using Vega-Lite’s autosize fit setting, with custom axis and label styling from the provided configuration.

Women's rights score by country

This visualization shows women's rights scores for numerous countries, with positive and negative values displayed as purple and pink horizontal bars. The chart uses D3 v3 with a linear scale for the x-axis to compute bar positions and an ordinal scale with rangeRoundBands for the y-axis to arrange countries vertically. Bars extend left or right from a central zero line depending on the sign of each score, with width calculated using the absolute difference between the zero position and the value position. Data comes from a tab-separated file loaded via `d3.tsv`.

Data as bar chart

A horizontal bar chart ranks the twenty most populous countries, showing population counts with steel-blue bars and labeled axes. Built with D3 v6, the visualization loads CSV data from Kaggle, maps populations to a linear scale and countries to a band scale, and renders the chart as SVG. The code uses `d3.scaleLinear`, `d3.scaleBand`, `d3.axisLeft`, and `d3.axisBottom` to construct the scales and axes.

Let's make a BAR CHART with D3.js!

A bar chart displays happiness scores for ten countries, with horizontal bars sorted from Finland’s highest score to Austria’s lowest. The visualization loads data from a CSV file and renders SVG rectangles using D3 v5’s `scaleLinear` for bar widths, `scaleBand` for vertical positioning, and `selectAll`–`data`–`enter` joins. The chart fills the entire 960×500 SVG canvas, with no axes or labels, emphasizing raw score comparisons across countries.
