The visualization tracks daily closing prices for 11 financial indices and stocks from January 2007 through late 2007, using an animated SVG line chart. Each company or sector index is plotted as a colored line over time, with a hover or scrubber interaction revealing exact values per date. The rendering uses smooth transitions to show the relative performance and volatility of assets like the Health Care Index, Lehman Brothers Holdings, and Marks and Spencer Group, highlighting divergences and correlations across the period. The animation makes it easy to spot trends, such as the decline in some equities during market turbulence, while the sparse data for certain series (e.g., International Consolidated Airlines) appears only later in the timeline, reflecting data availability. The minimal design keeps focus on the data, with a tooltip or legend aiding interpretation.
