This example visualizes a chronological log of MacShairport’s RTSP server activity, parsing each line’s timestamp and method to reveal request and response patterns over time. The visualization uses d3’s time-scale and line generator to plot event frequency, while brushing and zooming are enabled via d3.zoom. Raw log entries are parsed with a regex to extract dates, methods, and status codes, and the chart updates based on filtered events. The code relies on D3.js for SVG rendering, axis generation, and interactive panning, with no external data source beyond the embedded gistfile.
