This chord diagram visualizes all 2,427 goals scored and conceded in matches between the eight World Cup-winning teams, showing aggregate scoring relationships for each pair. Hovering over a team reveals its total goals scored and conceded, while hovering over a chord displays the head-to-head totals. The visualization uses D3.js v3, building the chord layout with d3.chord and rendering it as SVG paths with external arc labels and tick marks for goal counts. Data is embedded directly from the gist source, with tooltips implemented via div elements and mouse events.

A6 BAR CHART

This D3.v7 bar chart visualizes total goals scored in each World Cup year, using a sequential blue color scale where darker bars indicate higher goal counts. The chart loads its data from a CSV file hosted on GitHub, and renders bars as SVG rectangles with rotated x-axis labels for year readability. A legend on the right includes a linear gradient swatch with tick labels, while the color scale is defined via `d3.scaleSequential` and `d3.interpolateBlues`. The code also employs `d3.scaleBand`, `d3.scaleLinear`, and standard axes through `d3.axisBottom` and `d3.axisLeft`.

WC Data Viz

This visualization presents World Cup goal totals for national teams, combining a brief bar chart preview of the top nine countries with a compact table listing all remaining teams. The bar chart uses a simple SVG rectangle appended to the page, while the table groups countries with identical goal counts into single rows. Built with React and D3 v6, the code uses `d3.select` to manipulate the SVG and table elements, and the data is sourced from a local `data.js` file. The table displays goals and country names, with hover effects enlarging rows via CSS.

A7 Multi Line Chart

This multi-line chart visualizes FIFA World Cup goals scored across different tournament years, with each line representing a distinct number of teams participating. The chart uses SVG rendering with D3.js v7 to draw lines and circle markers for individual data points, while a color legend distinguishes team counts. Built with React, the visualization reads from a CSV dataset and includes interactive tooltips on hover. Axes are labeled for year and goals scored, with the legend oriented horizontally at the bottom. The implementation leverages D3 scales, line generators, and the d3-legend library for the color key.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DATA.HTML

This visualization displays the distribution of goals scored across Champions League matches, using a swarm plot to reveal clusters and outliers. It loads match data and renders circles representing individual goals, with positioning influenced by goal counts. The implementation combines D3.js force simulation for layout and D3 scales for mapping statistics to visual attributes.

Bar Chart: Goal Contributions

This bar chart displays total career goals and assists for individual players, with each bar growing upward in a staggered animation. The visualization overlays the chart on a scaled soccer field outline, complete with penalty areas, a center circle, and a halfway line. Built with D3 v4, the code uses `d3.scaleBand` for the x-axis, `d3.scaleLinear` for the y-axis, and `transition()` with `.delay()` to animate bar heights. Data is loaded from a CSV file via `d3.csv`, and SVG shapes render the field markings.

bar chart champions league data

A grouped bar chart visualizes Champions League team statistics, comparing goals, matches played, and wins for each team. The chart aggregates the CSV dataset using d3.rollup, then renders three color-coded bars per team with d3.scaleBand and d3.scaleLinear. SVG axes, rotated tick labels, and a legend clarify the data. The visualization is built with React, D3 v7, and plain SVG rendering.

Bar Chart: Goals

A bar chart compares total career goals for different footballers, with green bars animating upward in sequence from an initial zero position. The chart includes custom axes, rotated labels, and a football pitch overlay with field markings and penalty areas drawn behind the bars. It uses D3 v3 and v4 together, loading data from a CSV file, and relies on `d3.scaleBand`, `d3.scaleLinear`, `d3.axisBottom`, `d3.axisLeft`, and `selection.transition()` with duration and delay for the animated bar growth.

A7 SteamGraph

This visualization presents a streamgraph of FIFA World Cup data, showing how metrics like goals scored, team count, games played, and attendance (in millions) shift across tournament years. The stacked area chart uses the d3.stack() layout with a wiggle offset to vary the baseline, making each layer’s fluctuations visible. Color-coded layers correspond to a legend on the right. The code loads CSV data via d3.csv, computes the stacked series, and renders the result as SVG paths using d3.area(). Axes, a color scale from d3.schemeTableau10, and interactive tooltips are also implemented.
