The visualization shows the winner of Argentina’s 2019 presidential election in each province, using a choropleth-style map embedded via Flourish. It displays political results geographically, with each province colored according to the winning candidate. The code relies on the Flourish embed API, loading a hosted visualization from a public Flourish studio URL, and does not use custom JavaScript or D3 directly. The underlying data comes from a gist by the author aaizemberg, rendered through Flourish’s standard interactive map template.

Población por provincia (Censo 2010)

The visualization displays Argentina’s provincial population totals from the 2010 census using a cartogram-style layout, where each province appears as a sized circle positioned roughly by geographic location. It uses d3.forceSimulation to arrange the circles and d3.geoPath to draw province boundaries from the included TSV data, with circle area proportional to population. The code renders the map and circles on a Canvas, relying on the gist’s provincias.tsv file for population values and province names, and labels the largest provinces directly.

Censo 2010

This visualization displays Argentina’s 2010 census population by province as horizontal bars. Each province is labeled on the left with its population count on the right, and hovering reveals a tooltip with the full figure. The bars animate from zero to their final width over one second. It loads JSON data from a GitHub repository, uses `d3.json`, `d3.scaleLinear`, SVG text and rect elements, and applies `transition().duration()` to animate the bar widths.

XData News - Elecciones en Argentina 2019

This example displays a live feed of Google News articles about the 2019 Argentine elections, sorted by publication date in descending order. The page fetches RSS data through a CORS proxy, parses it with the RSSParser library, and renders each headline as a clickable link with its source and timestamp. Using D3 v5’s `d3.select` and `data().enter()` pattern, it appends paragraphs to the body, formatting each entry’s date and source inline with HTML. The visualization is a simple chronological list, not a chart, emphasizing recent news updates.

Choropleth Map Argentina Dptos Corona (Topojson)

A choropleth map of Argentina shows confirmed COVID-19 cases per department, colored on a logarithmic scale from pale yellow to deep purple with hover tooltips. The visualization uses d3.geoPath with a transverse Mercator projection and TopoJSON data from a GitHub repository, rendering as SVG with zoom support via d3.zoom. A gradient legend and logarithmic axis with tick values provide context. A background sphere path and uncommented province outlines frame the map.

Fork of Choropleth Map Argentina Dptos Corona

This choropleth map displays confirmed COVID-19 cases across Argentine departments, using a logarithmic color scale from blue to red to represent case counts. The visualization renders geographic boundaries as SVG paths via d3.geoPath with a Transverse Mercator projection, and features zoom and pan controls via d3.zoom. Hovering a department triggers a CSS pink highlight and reveals a tooltip with the department name, province, and case total. The map reads TopoJSON data from a GitHub-hosted United Kingdom counties file, with the fork repurposing that geometry for Argentina.

Argentina Map

A Choropleth-free map of Argentina displays all departmental boundaries, colored with a solid red fill and blue ocean background, with hover effects turning regions pink. The visualization uses a Transverse Mercator projection via `d3.geoTransverseMercator`, rendered through `d3.geoPath` into SVG. TopoJSON data from the departamentos_argentina GitHub repository feeds the paths, while `d3.zoom` enables pan and zoom interactions.
