This bookmarklet performs a currency conversion price check on IKEA product pages, comparing Hungarian and Romanian prices. It fetches the Romanian version of the current URL, extracts the product price from the hidden response's `#schemaProductPrice` element, converts the parsed HUF value to Romanian lei using a hardcoded exchange rate, and inserts the result into the page. The code uses XMLHttpRequest for the synchronous fetch, `document.querySelector` and `textContent` for parsing, and DOM manipulation to display the converted price.

Gist 89566fbfb20d81fd7fe9

This interactive line chart tracks the exchange rates of various global currencies against the euro, with a dropdown menu to switch between different currency selections. The visualization displays a time series of daily rates, augmented by a red exponential moving average line that reveals underlying trends, while a crosshair with a trackball follows the mouse to show precise values for any date and rate pair. The chart is rendered as an SVG using the D3.js library, with grid lines, axis labels, and a legend. The code also incorporates the d3fc framework for chart components and a custom area chart beneath the line to emphasize the rate’s magnitude over time.

Tangle document

This interactive document demonstrates how fuel prices in Ukraine are derived from oil prices and the euro exchange rate. Using the Tangle library, the page displays a sentence where key numbers are draggable, allowing viewers to adjust input values and see the computed gasoline price update in real time. The implementation relies on Tangle's `TKAdjustableNumber` class for the interactive sliders, while the calculation logic runs in a custom Tangle model using the `Math.round10` utility. JavaScript libraries include Tangle, MooTools, and the BVTouchable touch-event handling system.

Shopping App Prototype

This interactive shopping app prototype animates a dynamic dataset of products and prices, displaying each item as a horizontal steelblue bar with a text label showing its name and price. Using D3 v4 with SVG rendering, the visualization updates over time via `setTimeout` calls, adding and removing items like Milk, Eggs, and Cupcakes while adjusting the scale and bandwidth. The code leverages `d3.scaleLinear` for price encoding on the x-axis and `d3.scaleBand` for categorical positioning on the y-axis, with enter, update, and exit selections to handle data changes smoothly. The fixed vertical spacing maintains consistent row height as the dataset grows and shrinks.

Hello VizHub

This example displays a car price report by parsing an embedded JSON array and formatting each model with its price using JavaScript string templates. The page renders a large, centered text output onto a dark background with Ubuntu typography, using `document.getElementById` to inject the formatted message into the HTML. It relies on the `JSON.parse` method to convert the data and plain DOM manipulation to update the `<pre>` element, with no external visualization libraries.

Area chart - Romanian GDP

This area chart shows the evolution of urban population in Romania from 1960 to 2019, based on World Bank data. The visualization uses D3 v6 to render an SVG, employing `scaleTime` and `scaleLinear` for the axes, an `area` generator to create the filled region, and `axisLeft`/`axisBottom` with gridlines. The chart features a clear title, labeled axes with formatted tick values, and an orange semi-transparent fill to highlight the population trend over time.

Fork of Team 3 - Tankvergleich

This interactive map of Europe displays gasoline prices per country, with price values shown in an info box when a country is hovered or clicked. Clicking a country pins the info box, allowing users to edit the price for that country, which updates the underlying data store. The visualization uses Svelte for the UI, and D3’s `geoMercator` projection and `geoPath` to render the GeoJSON map data.

Shopping App Prototype

This example demonstrates a simple dynamic text list that simulates a shopping app interface. The visualization initially shows a single grocery item, “Milk” at $3, then updates after one second to add “Eggs” at $20, and finally corrects the egg price to $2 one second later. The prototype uses D3 v4 to render SVG text elements, with each item positioned vertically with fixed spacing. The `render` function leverages D3's selection API to append text nodes, setting font size, family, and alignment attributes. The data updates are triggered by JavaScript timers, though the code does not handle removal of old text elements.

locale semi-agnostic string to float conversion [JavaScript]

This example demonstrates a JavaScript utility for converting strings to floating-point numbers, designed to be locale semi-agnostic. It shows how the function handles various numeric formats, including European decimal commas, thousands separators, and ambiguous cases like “1.000” or “2,999.95”, returning numeric values or `NaN` for invalid inputs. The code uses the `toLocaleString()` method to detect the current locale’s decimal and thousands separators, then applies heuristic rules to interpret strings based on separator placement and digit counts. A MooTools click handler triggers the conversion examples, logging results to the console, with an accompanying HTML page featuring a product price display.
