This visualization maps the polling stations for French citizens living abroad, organized by the eleven overseas legislative constituencies. The map shows the geographic distribution of cities where expatriates can vote, with each location assigned to its corresponding electoral district. The data is sourced from a French government file containing polling station names and locations, which is first processed into a CSV format and then geocoded to obtain coordinates. The visualization uses a GeoJSON file with point features to plot the locations on a map.

TP 6 DataViz

This visualization maps voting patterns among French parliamentary members in 2015, showing clusters of legislators who frequently vote together. Nodes represent individual actors, while links connect pairs who shared at least 20 joint votes, with link thickness scaled by vote count. The code processes JSON files from `scrutins.json` and `acteurs_simple2.json` using a D3 force-directed layout, specifically `d3.forceSimulation` with link, charge, and center forces. The SVG rendering uses color-coded circles and lines, built with D3 v4 and queue.js for loading data.

Gist b3d6991a9d7ab3de6f7f13e7ed38e097

This map shows the municipal arrondissements of Lyon and Marseille in France, with each district colored according to its population. The visualization loads GeoJSON data describing the polygon boundaries of each arrondissement and uses the ogr2ogr library to convert the shapefile data. The interactive display, viewed through GeoJSON.io, renders the geographic features using standard web mapping tools and displays the population values stored in each polygon's properties when the user clicks or hovers over a district.

Gist 1f575522ca61946b31d92bbd146a9dce

This visualization compares French legislative electoral districts between 2012 and 2017, showing how commune boundaries and canton assignments shifted across the two years. It displays two side-by-side maps, likely using Three.js with WebGL rendering to animate or morph between the two configurations. The data comes from CSV files containing commune-to-canton and commune-to-district correspondences for both years. The visualization relies on the Vue framework to manage the interface and handle state transitions, with the geographic comparisons rendered through WebGL for smooth interactive exploration.

France population

This choropleth map shows the population of French metropolitan and overseas departments, with each region filled with a color corresponding to its total population. A threshold color scale maps population counts to a blue sequential palette, and a legend with an axis explains the color-to-value mapping. The visualization uses D3 v3, TopoJSON, and a queue to load the geographic data from `france.json` and population figures from `population.csv`. Geographic paths are rendered as SVG via `d3.geo.path` and an Albers projection, and coloring is applied by matching department names between the two datasets.

Récupération geolocalisation EHPAD 57

This example visualizes the geographic distribution of EHPAD (nursing homes) in the Moselle department (57) of France, displaying each facility as a point on a map. The data is retrieved from a public government API and converted to GeoJSON format using `jq` command-line tools for filtering and restructuring. The visualization is built with the Vue framework, rendering the geographic points to show facility locations, with additional property information such as name, city, and legal status included for reference. The map uses standard GeoJSON `Point` features to represent each facility's coordinates.

TP 6 : Vote à l'assemblée

The visualization shows a network of French National Assembly members and their voting positions on a specific ballot, grouped by political affiliation. It uses a force-directed graph layout where nodes represent individual legislators and links indicate shared voting behavior, with node colors encoding party groups. The graph is rendered as an SVG using D3.js v4, with the `d3.forceSimulation` API handling the physics-based layout (link forces, many-body repulsion, and centering). Data comes from the `scrutins.json` file, which contains the official roll-call vote records, detailing how each deputy voted.

TP 6 : Vote à l'assemblée

The visualization displays voting results from the French National Assembly, showing how members of parliament voted on a specific declaration regarding military intervention in Iraq. The code loads data from a JSON file and uses D3 v4's `d3.forceSimulation` to create a force-directed network layout, though the link and node rendering code is currently commented out, leaving only the simulation setup and drag interaction handlers in place. The data structure includes detailed vote tallies per parliamentary group.

FranceGivenAbroadPercent

This choropleth map shows the percentage of U.S. students studying abroad in France out of all students who studied abroad, per state. The visualization uses a quantize color scale with a green ColorBrewer scheme to represent the range of percentages, with darker greens indicating higher values and gray for states with missing data. Built with D3 v4, the map projects U.S. states using geoAlbersUsa and merges data from a CSV file with GeoJSON state boundaries to color each state according to its corresponding value. A title at the bottom reads "go to France Given go abroad percentage," summarizing the metric displayed.
