This example shows a group of trapezoid-shaped bar charts representing yearly data across three values: prior, actual, and expected. A button triggers a randomize function that regenerates the data and animates the transitions over one second. Each trapezoid’s fill color changes to crimson or seagreen depending on whether the actual value exceeds the expected value. The visualization uses d3.v3 with SVG paths, a linear scale for the y-axis, an ordinal scale for the x-axis, and d3.svg.line to construct trapezoid geometries.
