Werner

This example displays a world map using the Werner projection, a specific map projection that shapes the globe into a heart-like form. The visualization renders the map with land areas in dark gray, country boundaries in white, and a graticule overlay. The code builds the map with the D3.js library and its `d3.geo.bonne` projection, using `d3.geo.path` and `d3.geo.graticule` to draw the map features. World land and country data is loaded from a TopoJSON file fetched with `d3.json`.

Eckert I

This example displays a world map using the Eckert I projection, with landmasses filled in dark gray and country boundaries outlined in white against a graticule grid. The spherical outline is drawn with a thick black stroke and white fill, emphasizing the projection’s oval shape. The visualization uses D3 v3, the `d3.geo.eckert1` projection from the geo.projection plugin, and `d3.geo.path` to render geographic features. World data comes from a TopoJSON file (`world-50m.json`), processed with `topojson.feature` and `topojson.mesh` to separate land and country boundaries.

Eckert V

This example displays a world map on the Eckert V projection, rendered in SVG for a 960-by-500 viewport. It uses the `d3.geo.eckert5` projection from the geo.projection plugin and `d3.geo.path` to draw graticules, landmasses from a TopoJSON world-50m file, and country boundaries derived via `topojson.mesh`. The map is styled with contrasting strokes and fills against a light background.

Mollweide

This example shows a world map projected using the Mollweide projection, with graticule lines, land masses in dark fill, and country boundaries in white. The map is rendered as SVG using D3 v3 with the `d3.geo.mollweide` projection, `d3.geo.path`, and `d3.geo.graticule`. Land and boundary data come from a TopoJSON file of world countries, processed with `topojson.feature` and `topojson.mesh`. The code defines sphere, stroke, fill, graticule, land, and boundary CSS classes to style the visual layers.

Mollweide Hemispheres

This example displays a world map using the Mollweide projection, interrupted into two hemispheres—northern and southern—which are rotated twenty degrees and centered on a 960-by-500 SVG canvas. The map shows landmasses as dark shapes with white country boundaries, overlaid on a graticule, all clipped to a circular sphere. It uses the `d3.geo.interrupt` and `d3.geo.mollweide.raw` projections with `d3.geo.path`, and renders geographic data from a World 50m TopoJSON dataset, drawing both land polygons and a mesh of country boundaries.

Aitoff

This example displays a world map using the Aitoff projection, a compromise projection that represents the entire globe in an ellipse. The map shows landmasses in dark gray and country boundaries as white lines over a graticule of latitude and longitude lines. Built with D3 v3 and the `d3.geo.aitoff` projection from the geo.projection plugin, it uses `d3.geo.path` to render the sphere, graticule, and land features. The world data is loaded as TopoJSON from a remote gist and processed with `topojson.feature` and `topojson.mesh`.

Winkel Tripel

A world map in the Winkel Tripel projection shows land masses in black with white boundaries, enclosed by a graticule and a spherical outline. The map displays all continents without extreme distortion, using a custom geographic projection. Built with the D3 v3 library, the example loads world-50m.json data and renders SVG paths via d3.geo.path with the d3.geo.winkel3 projection, applying graticule and boundary meshes through topojson.

Eckert VI

This example demonstrates the Eckert VI map projection, a pseudocylindrical equal-area projection that displays the entire globe within an ellipse. The map shows world land masses as dark regions with white country boundaries overlaid on a graticule, all rendered as SVG. The code uses the D3 v3 library with the `d3.geo.eckert6` projection plugin, `d3.geo.path` for projecting geographic features, and `d3.geo.graticule` for the coordinate grid. World data comes from a 50m resolution GeoJSON file loaded via `d3.json`, and TopoJSON is used to extract land and boundary shapes.
