WebCOLD 04 demonstrates interactive font-size control using a custom HTML element called `superSlider`. Two sliders adjust the title and subtitle font sizes of a preview block in real time, displaying the current value in a readout. The custom element, defined via `customElements.define`, wires up range inputs to update CSS `font-size` properties and includes reset buttons. The example uses no external libraries, relying on native DOM APIs like `querySelector` and `MouseEvent`.

Fork of Blank Slate with Hot Reloading

This example displays the text "Hola mundo!" at a large, adjustable font size using plain HTML and inline CSS within a container. The code sets a fixed pixel font size with a left text alignment, and the interactive aspect—allowing users to change the number via Alt-drag—comes from the hosting environment. It does not use any external visualization libraries, instead relying on the `container.innerHTML` property to inject the rendered markup directly.

tiny slides

A tiny slide deck runs entirely in one HTML file. Each slide is a `<section>` element inside the `<main>` tag, with CSS `display:none` hiding all but the first slide. The script listens for `keyup` events and uses `insertAdjacentElement` to move the first or last section to the opposite end of the container, shifting which slide is visible on right or left arrow presses. The presentation wraps around, and the entire implementation—HTML, CSS, and JavaScript—stays under 100 lines, using only the native DOM API and vanilla event listeners.

Fork of Blank Slate with Hot Reloading

This example displays “Hello World!” in large, centered text using a font size of 217 pixels. It demonstrates a minimal Blank Slate template with hot reloading, where the rendered output updates dynamically. The code uses plain HTML and JavaScript, setting the `fontSize` variable directly within a template literal to control the text’s appearance. The visualization serves as a starting point for rapid experimentation, showing how a simple numeric property like font size can be tweaked live.

Fork of Blank Slate with Hot Reloading

This example displays a large, centered text element reading “Hello World! 33” at a font size of 217 pixels. The text is rendered directly into the container using a plain HTML `<div>` with inline styles, and the font size is defined as a JavaScript constant within the exported `main` function. The visualization demonstrates a minimal setup where the numeric value and text can be edited in the source code, and with hot reloading, changes appear instantly in the browser.

sliders

Four interactive sliders demonstrate d3.svg.brush with a custom cubehelix color scale. Each slider maps a numerical value to a changing fill color via `d3.scale.cubehelix`, creating a rainbow gradient that transitions along the slider track as the brush extent is dragged. The SVG rendering uses rect elements for the slider bar and background, with a Montserrat font for labels. The code is built with D3 3.5.5 and includes a cubehelix interpolation plugin, showing how brush events can drive continuous color updates.

Untitled

This example demonstrates interactive manipulation of a text paragraph’s style and visibility through three buttons. The interface uses plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with inline `onclick` handlers calling custom functions that directly modify the element’s `style` properties, such as `color`, `fontSize`, `fontStyle`, and `visibility`. No external libraries or frameworks are used; the page consists of a single `index.html` file with embedded scripts.

d3-simple-slider

This example demonstrates four interactive slider configurations built with the d3-simple-slider library and D3 v4, each handling a different data type and scale. The sliders showcase value selection for percentages, discrete integer steps, time-based data using JavaScript `Date` objects formatted with `d3.timeFormat`, and dense value arrays with custom tick marks. The code renders each slider as an SVG element via `d3.sliderHorizontal()`, binding change events to update text displays in real time, and includes reset links that programmatically set slider values. The implementation highlights the library’s flexibility in adapting to varied input formats while maintaining a consistent, user-friendly interface.

HTML Face

This example demonstrates a minimal HTML page that uses CSS styling to create a playful, large-scale typographic layout. The page contains two styled text elements, “Hello HTML!” and “blub,” with distinct font sizes and text alignment, showcasing basic document structure and style separation. The code relies on standard HTML elements and embedded CSS within a `<style>` tag, with no external JavaScript or data sources. It serves as a foundational demonstration of how CSS can control visual presentation in a bare-bones web document.
