Average rent by London borough, 2012 and 2013
This interactive choropleth maps average monthly private rents across London boroughs for 2012 and 2013, with a dropdown menu to switch between the two years and instantly recolor the map. It uses D3 v3 with a Mercator projection, `d3.geo.path` for rendering SVG paths from GeoJSON boundary data, and `d3.scale.quantize` with ColorBrewer greys to encode rental values. Hovering highlights a borough and shows a tooltip with its name and price. The rent data comes from the London Datastore, matching borough names to the map features.
AI-generated descriptionPick a year, and the rental data as well as the map colours are updated.
