This visualization plots the locations of reported monoliths on a rotating globe using an orthographic projection. It displays the sites as points, with Delaunay triangulation links connecting them, overlaid on country outlines from the World Atlas TopoJSON. The code uses `d3.geoOrthographic` and `d3.geoPath` for geographic rendering, `d3.geoVoronoi` for triangulation, and `d3.hexbin` to aggregate nearby coordinates. Drag and zoom interactions are enabled via `d3.drag` and `d3.zoom`, with the monolith data loaded from `monoliths.csv`.

AI-generated description

Quick prototype showing the locations of the monoliths that have been appearing. With help from Curran Kelleher, Jonah Adkins, and Alec Burch.

This is heavily based on a recreation by Philipe Rivière, with d3-geo-voronoi, of Jason Davies’s magistral demo World Airports Voronoi. Lightly modified to show the locations of global monoliths instead of airports.
