This interactive heatmap shows the number of early COVID-19 infections across Chinese regions, broken down by age category. Rows represent locations, columns represent age groups, and cell colors intensify with higher case counts, revealing Hubei and Shaanxi as hotspots, especially among the 66+ age group. Built with D3 v4, the visualization uses `d3.scaleBand` for axes, `d3.scaleSequential` with an `interpolateReds` color scale, and SVG rectangles. Hovering over a cell triggers a tooltip displaying the exact count, while the data originates from the `age_v2.csv` file.

AI-generated description

This visualisation was implemented to show the rate of spread between people in the early stages of the outbreak. as we can see the heatmap is an interactive heatmap that shows the number of people at the bottom of the heatmap.

From analysis we can see that the provinces of Hubei and Shaanxi were hit very badly with maximum number of cases arising from tha part. and most of them in the age group of 66+ years.
