This bar chart shows the cumulative total of Rebrickable Lego sets released each year from 1949 to 2019, using a time-based scale with rectangular bars. The data, loaded from a CSV file, is rendered as SVG rectangles with a blue fill, positioned using `d3.scaleTime` and `d3.scaleLinear`, and axes are generated with `d3.axisLeft` and `d3.axisBottom`. The chart includes a title and an author attribution, with the bars scaled and inverted via SVG transforms.

Rebrickable Lego Sets by Year

This bar chart shows the cumulative number of Lego sets released by Rebrickable from 1949 to 2019, with a steadily increasing running total over time. The visualization uses D3 v5 with SVG rendering, employing `scaleLinear` for the y-axis and `scaleTime` with `scaleBand` for the x-axis. Data is loaded from a CSV file via `dsv`, and axes are generated with `axisLeft` and `axisBottom`. The rectangular bars are appended and positioned using the scales, with the data sourced from Rebrickable.

Rebrickable Lego Sets by Year

This bar chart displays the cumulative number of Lego sets released each year from 1949 to 2019, sourced from Rebrickable data. Each bar’s height represents the running total, with the y-axis scaled linearly and the x-axis using a band scale for years. The visualization uses D3.js v5, employing `scaleLinear`, `scaleBand`, `axisLeft`, and `axisBottom` to render the plot as SVG. Bars are drawn as rectangles with a fill style, using a translation and vertical scale inversion to position them correctly.

Rebrickable Lego Sets by Year

This chart shows the cumulative running total of Lego sets released each year from 1949 to 2019, based on Rebrickable data. The visualization uses vertical violet bars to represent the growing count over time, with a time-scaled x-axis and a linear y-axis. The code employs d3.dsv to load the CSV, d3.scaleTime and d3.scaleLinear for the axes, and SVG rectangles for the bars, which are flipped vertically using a scale transform. Axis labels and a title are added via d3 selections.

Rebrickable Lego Sets by Year

This bar chart shows the cumulative number of Rebrickable Lego sets released each year from 1949 to 2019, with the running total rising steadily from 5 to nearly 15,000. The visualization uses D3 v5’s `scaleTime` for the x-axis (with ticks every three years) and `scaleLinear` for the y-axis, rendering steelblue rectangles via SVG. Data is loaded from a CSV using `dsv`, and the chart includes a title and author credit.

Rebrickable Lego Sets by Year

This visualization shows the cumulative number of Rebrickable LEGO sets released by year, from 1949 to 2019, as a vertical bar chart. The bars increase steadily, reflecting the growth of LEGO’s set catalog over time. Each bar’s height represents the running total for that year, with a blue fill on an SVG canvas. The code uses D3 v5’s `d3.dsv` to load the CSV data, `d3.scaleBand` for the x-axis, and `d3.scaleLinear` for the y-axis, appending rectangles with manually calculated positions and heights.

Lego Sets by Year from Rebrickable

A bar chart visualizes the cumulative number of LEGO sets released each year from 1949 to 2019, using data from Rebrickable. The chart shows a steady upward trend over time. The visualization uses D3 v5 APIs including `scaleTime`, `scaleLinear`, `axisBottom`, and `axisLeft` to render the SVG output. The `csv` function loads the data, which is parsed and plotted with rectangles, while custom tick intervals are defined using `d3.timeYear`.
